Cycling near Prambanan

We drive you from your hotel in Yogyakarta to the area of Prambanan temple. Upon arrival you cannot miss the immense steeple of Siva (Siwa) temple. The main temple of Prambanan. Right next to it are the 2 other high towers of Visnu (right) temple and Brahma (left) temple. These 3 temples welcome you on the main square of Prambanan and rise high above the complex.They can be seen in the wider area. We visit Prambanan at the end of day as it is still cool we first drive to Plaosan temple. At Plaosan you will meet your local English speaking guide for a bike tour in the Sleman area of Jogjakarta. After your visit to Plaosan, bikes are fitted to size and you'll receive a traditional topi (ricefield hat) to protect you from the sun and a small botlle of water (0,6L) then you're of to explore Indonesians in their everyday life.

We bike through flat terrain and you will be introduced to tempe, tahu and emping making. Witness a short performance of the old Angklung (bamboo instrument) maker and see Candi Sudjiwan. In the area of Sudjiwan you can enjoy a traditional local lunch of Nasi Gudeg. It's an easy bikeride where a dirt road will alternate asphalted roads. The peace and quite of the village we pass is restfull and relaxing and the insight in every daylife is a joyfull experience. Optional we can also visit a local primary school and/or a local handicraft school (depends on season) during this tour.

After lunch by car we take you to Prambanan temple. There you will be accompanied by a local English speaking guide. He takes you passed the most historic points of interest and explains the history of the complex. At the parking lot you find your car and we drive you to your hotel in Jogjakarta or (if booked in advance) we drive you to Solo and drop you off at your hotel.
