Sunrise Borobudur

Before the break of dawn we drive you in approx 1 hour from your hotel in Yogyakarta to Borobudur. We enter Borobudur before the complex opens officially (which is 6AM). From the nirvana (top level of Borobudur) you have a good view of the valley Borobudur lays in. As the sun rises you the landscape changes and comes to life. A magical experience. When the sun is up you can walk back to the entrance gate and hire a local guide (optional at own expense) and get a guided tour along the reliefs. The guide ussually also explaines the history and impact of Borobudur. After your guided tour there is time to walk around and get the pictures you want or just enjoy the spiritual atmosphere of the complex a bit longer. Your car is waiting at the parking lot and will drive you straight back to (your hotel in) Yogyakarta.
