Bike to Parangtritis

A car and local guide will pick you up at your hotel in Yogyakarta. From your hotel we depart by bike in the direction of the ocean. Your guide will join in the bike ride and the car will close by along route. We pass Kasongan (the ceramic area of Yogyakarta) visit some small home industries e.i. wayang kulit, cobra milker and basket factory. Continuing to the beach we pass some great landscapes. During the tour we stop to have a short (picnic) snack of tea, coffee and some local snacks to get the bloodsugar level at a good level. Passing through little villages (kampungs) we meet local live. It is a fun experience to see how Indonesians enjoy their homes during the different hours of the day. The tour takes approx 5 hours (depending on fit level) and then we've reached the beach. Beach live on Java is totally different then most Europeans know. You sit under an umbrella on a mat and you enjoy a swim (do be careful the Indian ocean is known for dangerous under currents), a young coconut drink and; perhaps a ride on a squat. Indonesians will try and stay out of the heat (sun) as much as they can! You can enjoy the same activities as the Indonesians do. Late afternoon the car will drive you back to Yogyakarta.
